ABOUT HIBAQ

Hibaq Hassan is a professional makeup artist based in Birmingham and Liverpool, specialising in Avant Garde makeup. She discovered her passion for makeup at the age of 14 and would experiment with a variety of eyeshadow colours, creating different looks on herself, as she grew more skilled, she expanded her craft by applying makeup on others.

 

Growing up in an ethnic household, Hibaq challenged cultural expectations by pursuing a career in makeup, despite the traditional values of her Somali upbringing.

She decided to pursue her passion and studied Specialist Hair and Media Make-up at The City of Liverpool College for 2 years. Hibaq then went on to enroll onto higher education at University College Birmingham, where she will graduate this year.

 

Since 2018, Hibaq has worked as a freelance makeup artist. Through her years of experience, she has had the opportunity to work on photo-shoots, runway shows, and more. Explore her portfolio and experience her dedication to makeup artistry.
